Philodendron Golden Dragon Tissue Culture

This culture pack includes 1 Philodendron Golden Dragon tissue culture. It comes in agar gel and is ready to acclimate to its new jungle.

A true tropical showpiece — Philodendron ‘Golden Dragon’ is a bold, shapeshifting beauty with uniquely lobed leaves and shimmering golden-green variegation that looks almost mythical. As it matures, its leaves develop distinct “dragon head” shapes with subtle marbling and streaks of lime, chartreuse, and deep jade.

Fast-growing and easy to please, this hybrid brings a burst of color and energy to any collection. Its playful foliage and sturdy structure make it an instant favorite for collectors who love texture and variety.

Watch our step-by-step video instructions on our How To Acclimate Your Tissue Culture blog!

  • Step 1- Do not do anything to the culture for 1-2 days to allow them to adjust to the temperature in their new environment
  • Step 2- Open the package & wash the agar jelly off the plant as thoroughly as possible. We strongly recommend using running water. A small paint brush can be gently used to assist with the cleaning process. This is one of the most important steps of the process.
  • Step 3- Plant your cultures in the medium of your choice. We recommend a chunky blend of coco husk & perlite. We utilize acclimation plugs although there are many great mediums available.
  • Step 4- Place them into a clear sealed package (container or plastic bag). Within 24-hours your container will have water droplets forming, which will confirm the container is at 100% humidity.
  • Step 5-Place under a grow lights for between 8 & 14 hours a day
  • Step 6- Leave plants covered for the first 7 days.  The following 7 to 10 days slowly expose plants to ambient air. Each day exposing the plants to slightly more air until fully acclimated.

Our acclimation kits will contain all of the tools necessary for success. Just add water & grow lights to the simple acclimation process to produce healthy acclimated plants!

*These instructions are a BRIEF overview of the acclimation process. Completing thorough research prior to purchasing a tissue culture is important. The customer must provide proper acclimation to the tissue culture. We are happy to help answer any questions you may have in regards to the process of acclimating plants.

Orange Lake Nursery will not accept liability for mishaps during the acclimation process. The acclimation process will vary from location to location. Acclimation can depend on the environment, medium used, and many other factors By purchasing this product, you agree to these terms*

How to Care for Philodendron Golden Dragon

When you first get your tissue culture plants, let them adjust to their new environment before starting regular care. Here are some simple care tips to help your plants grow:

  • Light: Place in bright, indirect light for at least 6 hours daily. Keep out of direct sunlight, which can harm the leaves.

  • Temperature: Keep your plant in a warm space between 65–85°F and away from cold air or drafts.

  • Humidity: This plant loves moisture in the air. Mist the leaves regularly or use a humidifier if the air is dry.

  • Watering: Keep the soil slightly damp but never soggy. Make sure the pot drains well to avoid water sitting in the roots.

  • Soil: Use a rich soil mix that includes materials like coco husk and perlite for good drainage and airflow. We have both in our inventory!

  • Fertilizer: Feed your plant regularly with Orange Lake Nursery Fertilizer to keep it healthy and growing strong.
